Description

Mexican producer MHV, a veteran of IDM and pioneer of dubstep in Mexico, presents the firsts sounds of Vira, in a track named “Vapor” (Steam). An ambient dubstep track, with inlfuences of “basic channel“, in which subtle wobbles, digital skankings and a minimal structure, interacts with sharp halfstep beats, to generate a watery atmosphere that evaporates through the speakers, to make dance body and mind.
The same way as a virus, coming out from the third world, “Vapor” is replicated and evolve to three different remixes, built by producers from the underground mexican electronic music scene. Kupa reinterprets the theme in a dancefloor version, with a four by four rhythm, which oscilates between dub and techno, merged with 8bit bleeps and arpeggios. The Raging Sea, a new project from two IDM and ambient producers (Bifidus and one part of Denizen), remixes the theme in a technically impeccable way, with various rhythms and sounds, that go through clicks and cuts, dub and distortioned wobble. Finally, Mekha processes the ambient part of Vapor, emphasizes the bass and adds the low voices of MC Megazimze.
The 4 versions of “Vapor” are a good example of the versatility of dubstep and an excellent sample of the range of sound that the label Vira will be handling.
