Roads To Space Travel's second album after what was a busy year for the
band that saw the release of their debut record to tons of critical
praise, a sold out seven inch release on DeSoto Records and East Coast
/ Midwest dates with Burning Airlines. Ballad/Jazz/Waltz delivers an
even more potent follow-up to their Amish debut, complete with pop
hooks like in the album's opener "When I Gave Up", hard rock moments
coupled with syncopated rhythms, and full on rock jam of "Birds in
Trees". The band found some new subtle touches, as well, that manifest
themselves in the effected horns of "Ballad/ Jazz/ March" and plaintive
piano melody and repetitive vocal line of the album's closing song,
"Unraveling". Recorded at Baltimore's ACR studio with the band and
Craig Bowen at the controls.- Amish Records
