Biography

Cutting his teeth as one third of shouty art punks, Tartrazine, Applemax's early musical adventures mainly revolved around guitars, white cider and riotous post punk bands such as PopChrist, Homer and United Fruitcake Outlet. As his interest in electronic sounds grew and his pedal board expanded, Max became less interested in the guitar as primary signal generator, and started exploring alternatives to guitar music.
He developed a love of Jungle and Drum + Bass, and became a regular at the early Shinobi nights. Eventually acquiring some decks and a cut down copy of Cubase, Max began trying to duplicate the sounds and grooves he was hearing in the clubs.

g up for the Access To Music music tech course proved a big step forward, and resulted in the tracks that eventually became the Tegleg album ' Guide' (2010). Hanging out with the Tegleg guys (Dan and Keith) also spawned the initial ElectroFurnace jams where TVs and X Boxes lined up with synths loopers and drum machines to produce tracks like Pneumatic Press and Spotlight. These sessions were a real eye opener for all three, giving them an idea of what was possible. Whilst Keith lost interest, Dan and Max kept things going and progressing, with the Electrofurnace, Applemax and DXN (Dans solo project) work all cross pollinating and moving all three projects forward.

In addition to remixes for DXN, andy carmichael, Full flava, Alex Larkman, Cyb3rnator, Count to Zero, Spank The Chemical Christians, Abezilla and Numerical, Applemax has produced a steady and solid body of work, including the following:
