Patrick Kilpatrick has recorded and performed since the late 90s, first in the noise-rock trio, CO3, and later in the post-punk duo, The Blunder Children and the free jazz outfit, Wasteland Jazz Ensemble. He is also the founding member of the recording co-op Klarc Qent & Friends, a sound collage project inspired by Negativland, John Oswald, Steinski, Wayne Butane, and others. In fact, the recording project, Blunderphonics, would serve as a tribute to Plunderphonics legend, John Oswald.
Kilpatrick would later record and perform under Blunder, a mashup and tape manipulation project building upon past works.
Patrick Kilpatrick is a continuation of his sample-based music, inspired by experiemntal legends Harry Partch, Halim El-Dabh, Mari Kimura, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Bernard Parmegiani, Bruce Haack, and Christian Marclay, as well as the more rock-based Silver Apples, Broadcast, Ramleh, Clock DVA, and Nurse With Wound.
